This piece shows the Sindhi style of embroidery using the interlacing stitch.
Different types of thread like twisted silk or cotton yarn or silken floss can be used for the embroidery .
Traditionally it was done on maroon and black color khaddar fabric with very bright coloured thread like green, red, yellow, blue, & orange, like  in this piece.
There are signs of being loved and well used: a rip on the border, a stain, worn embroidery in spots ,  shown in the photos...all adding to the charm of an antique piece.
