Native Beauty, who stands tall, is a creation by Kim Elkins who is known throughout the world for her unique dolls. No doll is the same,  each one is infused with a life of its own, and each one has chosen its owner before it is bought. Kim has the unique talent of transforming "found" objects into being utilized for her works of art...An old piece of Pendleton wool... homespun yarn from a neighbor's sheep...beautiful old buttons...and so much more.
Recently Kim did a trade for ancient beads from 1200BC. Many of her dolls are embellished with these beautiful and rare beads. Her work has been featured in many quality galleries in the US and collected by people around the world. Look carefully, maybe this doll has preselected you!
Native Beauty has a gentle face with soft sage green eyes, a hint of red lips, and a forehead smudge. Her arms are white feathers. Her handwoven tapestry shawl is adorned with tiny white beads and white cloth daisies down the front edges. Her white cloth under vest has blue embroidered scalloped edges and a large embroidered red rose and green stem on the back. She is wearing a handwoven tapestry straight skirt closed with small wood beads. Her long straight hair is beaded with tiny white beads as well. Her head covering is a tapestry with small white cloth daisies. She is wearing a long red beaded necklace and three shorter strands in silver, white, and sky blue. She has a turquoise bead under her chin. She stands on a block of wood encircled with a white beaded coil.
