Dried date leaves are wrapped over wild reeds. The Weaver has to keep in mind when to change color for making each design & figure. Each piece is intricately handwoven in villages in Pakistan whose basketry is centuries old. It can take weeks to finish one piece. They embody the influence of color & design symbolizing the source of all Life. The variations and imperfections in color & material add to the mystique & enjoyment of this primitive art form.
